Born in Germany, Mars Lasar (lah ZAHR) moved to Australia with his parents when he was less than a year old. He started playing the piano at age eleven and received training in classical, jazz and composition. At age fifteen he won the "Young Composers Award" at the Sydney Opera House. It was around this time that he also developed an interest in using computers to create music.

 

 

这张专辑完全可以做为一部历史大片的背景音乐。无论是宏大的战斗场面或是温柔的儿女情长，都可以在这张专辑中找到适当的配乐。专辑运用了大量的自然声，水流、马嘶，还有从天空滚过的惊雷和鸟的哀鸣。加上所用的乐器：号角、印第安的战鼓、萧，和着雄厚的人声吟唱，使得所有曲目都带有一种史诗般的悲壮。就像“奥林匹斯众神”那种大气的开场和印第安祭祀风格的“鹰飞”。
