Evan (David) Taubenfeld (born June 27, 1983) is an American singer/songwriter, best known for being Avril Lavigne's lead guitarist. Evan Taubenfeld's debut album, Welcome To The Black List Club, is due out in the summer of 2009.Taubenfeld was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Mark and Ami Taubenfeld, who ran a kosher catering business.He is Jewish. He taught himself guitar by learning to play "Come As You Are" by Nirvana.When intendeding to study at Berklee College of Music, he received a phone call from Josh Sarubin, inviting him to audition for a new talent he just signed. A young Canadian named Avril Lavigne. Taubenfeld remained in Lavigne's band until late 2004; when he left to focus on his own music.In June 2006, Taubenfeld founded Big Evil Corp. The company primarily operates as an extension of Taubenfeld's publishing and production businesses.In mid-February 2009 Evan released a video for Cheater of the Year (a song from the upcoming album). The video shows him singing and playing drums while lyrics to the song are shown. On March 31, 2009 Evan's first single "Boy Meets Girl" will be released on iTunes and Amazon.com.
