來自德國的Modern Talking成軍於1983年，由於二位團員實力堅強，初試啼聲後即締造銳不可擋的歐式舞曲風潮。大帥哥主唱Thomas Anders有着一副特殊嗓音與迷人風采，極富創作才情的作曲者兼製作人Dieter Bohlen則是打造該團黃金歌曲的狠角色。

1984年推出的首支單曲『You're My Heart, You're My Soul』便以迅雷不及掩耳的強力旋風，吹刮在全球的各大小舞壇中。在發表了第二首單曲『You Can Win If You Want』以後一年，1985年首張LP大碟『The First Album』問世。1986年的『Brother Louie』更是陪伴許多人走過青澀歲月的解壓歌曲，這首歌實在是太有名了，以至於被50多種語言翻唱過。林珊珊翻唱的粵語版叫『連鎖反應』，鄧潔儀翻唱的國語版叫『路燈下的小姑娘』。
