縱橫美國鄉謠音樂界超過半世紀的殿堂級男歌手Kenny Rogers，昨日傳出死訊，享年81歲。其所屬的經理人公司SKH Music負責人Keith Hagan在Kenny Rogers的官方社交網公布了Kenny的死訊，在文章中表示：「Kenny的家人帶着悲傷的心情，宣布Kenny於昨晚（前晚）約10時25分去世，享年81歲。他安詳地在家中離去，當時有適當的醫護照顧，其家人都陪伴在側。」據指Kenny在美國時間前晚，於喬治亞州寓所當中離世，他一直沒公布有患病，有指他是死於自然。
由於近日新冠肺炎在美國擴散，其家中都不希望在此時刻舉行大型喪禮，因此，Kenny的家人暫時只會以私人形式為他舉行小型喪禮，其家人希望在疫情緩和後，才為他舉行紀念活動。Kenny1938年於德克薩斯州出生，早於1957年就加入樂壇，到2015年時他表示已經足夠，希望退休，但到2017年他仍有出席活動，到當年才正式退休。Kenny曾經3次奪得格林美獎項、6個鄉謠音樂獎獎項，擁有24首冠軍歌曲，更被列入鄉謠音樂名人堂，是美國鄉謠界的天王，其名作包括《Lady》、《The Gambler》、《Islands in the Stream》及《Lucille》等等
